What you'll do

Network

- Run the firewalls, a high-availability pair at the office and one at the factory, including the site-to-site VPN and remote access with two-step login.
- Configure and maintain managed switches (VLANs, link aggregation, access control lists, 802.1X) and Wi-Fi 6 with RADIUS sign-in.
- Look after the fibre links between factory buildings, the structured cabling and the internet lines from several ISPs.

Servers and storage

- Run our servers on Proxmox, with Linux virtual machines for our in-house ERP, Git and monitoring.
- Manage the file storage (TrueNAS/ZFS) that replaces Google Drive, including folder permissions by role.
- Own the backups: nightly copies, weekly offsite disk rotation and regular test restores.
- Manage staff accounts and logins, two-step login and endpoint anti-malware.

Security and operations





- Keep system and network logs for 180 days and support security audits (ISO 27001-aligned, CERT-In rules).
- Look after the UPS, the racks, and hardware warranties and spares.
- Lead the migration of files and systems from Google Drive and MS Teams.
- Write and maintain runbooks, network diagrams and change records.
- Guide our IT support staff and be the main contact for vendors and the integrator.

What we're looking for

- 4–8 years in IT infrastructure, with hands-on experience in both networking and server administration.
- Firewalls and VPNs in production; OPNsense, pfSense or Fortinet experience is a robust plus.
- Layer 2/3 switching, VLAN design, and Wi-Fi with enterprise sign-in.
- Linux server administration, virtualisation (Proxmox, VMware or KVM), and ZFS or other enterprise storage.
- Backup and restore tools, directory and identity management (FreeIPA, Samba AD or Active Directory), and scripting (Bash or Python).
- Server hardware (Dell iDRAC or HPE iLO), RAID and disk replacement.
- Certifications preferred: CCNA or CCNP, and RHCSA or RHCE.
- Comfortable as the main owner of company IT, and disciplined about documentation.
- Experience in manufacturing, defence or other regulated sites is a plus.

Good to know

- Occasional after-hours work for changes and outages, with backup from our integrator.
- Background and police verification required
