Job Summary

We are looking for a technically sound and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer for our Purchase Department. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing mechanical components, coordinating with vendors, negotiating prices, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials required for the manufacturing of versatile packaging machinery.

Key Responsibilities

- Sourcing and Procurement of Raw Material MS/Aluminium, SS, Non-Ferrous.
- Procure mechanical components, machine parts, and engineering materials as per production requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop vendors for mechanical components, fabrication, machining, and other engineering requirements.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers, compare prices, and negotiate rates, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) as per company requirements.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, PPC, Stores, and Quality departments to ensure timely material availability.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical specifications.




- Source materials such as MS/SS components, shafts, bearings, gears, motors, fasteners, pneumatic components, and other machine parts.
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery and resolve material shortages or delays.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor databases, quotations, and other procurement documents.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and identify alternative suppliers and materials.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Stores teams for material inspection and resolution of rejected or non-conforming materials.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of mechanical components, engineering materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand BOMs.
- Vendor development, price negotiation, and supplier management skills.
- Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-control abilities.

Required Qualifications

- B.Tech / B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in Purchase/Procurement in a manufacturing or packaging machinery industry will be preferred.
