Manager SAP BTP Applications The role will lead the in-house SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and web development team to design, build, deploy and support business applications that extend SAP S/4HANA across sales, supply chain, plant operations, safety, quality and compliance. The Manager will own the end-to-end delivery of BTP applications — from requirement understanding and solution architecture to development, testing, deployment and production support — while ensuring the security, regulatory compliance and data integrity demanded in an explosives manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Delivery

- Lead, mentor and manage a team of SAP BTP developers; allocate work, set priorities and track delivery.
- Own the BTP application portfolio and delivery roadmap in alignment with business priorities and the SAP S/4HANA landscape.
- Plan sprints, estimate effort and drive Agile delivery with explicit milestones, quality gates and release management.
- Build team capability through code reviews, technical guidance, knowledge sharing and skill development plans.

Solution Architecture & Development

- Define solution architecture for BTP applications using SAP CAP (Node.js/Java), SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Build Apps, Build Process Automation and HANA Cloud.
- Design and oversee integrations with SAP S/4HANA and non-SAP systems using SAP Integration Suite, OData/REST APIs, Event Mesh and Cloud Connector.
- Establish development standards, reusable components, CI/CD pipelines (BTP CI/CD, Git, Transport Management) and DevOps practices.
- Ensure performance, scalability and maintainability of applications; manage BTP subaccounts, entitlements and service consumption costs.

Security, Governance & Compliance

- Implement robust security using SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS), XSUAA, role-based access and principle of least privilege.
- Ensure data protection, audit logging,



segregation of duties and compliance with internal IT policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture artefacts, runbooks and application catalogue.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Work closely with Sales, SCM, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Finance and SAP functional teams to translate requirements into user stories and solutions.
- Manage implementation partners and third-party vendors; review designs, estimates and deliverables to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Coordinate SIT, UAT, cutover, go-live and hyper care; manage production incidents, RCA and permanent fixes within agreed SLAs.
- Report delivery status, risks and KPIs to IT leadership.

Preferred Skills
- SAP Build Apps, Build Process Automation, Build Work Zone and SAP Mobile Services.
- SAP BTP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Associate – Back-End Developer – SAP CAP, BTP Extension Developer) is desirable.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP BTP application development and architecture (CAP, Fiori/UI5, HANA Cloud).
- Good working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite, OData/REST APIs and S/4HANA extensibility (side-by-side and key-user/developer extensibility, RAP awareness).
- Experience in modern web technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5/CSS, UI5,React or Angular.
- Proven experience leading development teams and delivering multiple applications end to end.
- Sound understanding of Agile/Scrum, DevOps, Git and CI/CD practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience & Qualification
- 8 - 10 years’ experience in IT/ SAP application development, with at least 3 - 5 years in SAP BTP / SAP UI5 / SAP extension development and 3+ years in a team-lead or manager role.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline; master’s degree will be an added advantage.
