Key Responsibilities

Machine

Maintenance &

- Repair

- Install, assemble, align, and maintain cashew processing machinery, including cutting, shelling, peeling, and grading machines.

- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance to ensure smooth machine operations.

- Identify mechanical faults and carry out timely repairs.

2.

Preventive

Maintenance

- Conduct routine inspections of machines and equipment.

- Lubricate moving components such as bearings, shafts, and guides.

- Replace worn-out parts, including blades, belts, bearings, and bushes.

- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records.

3.

Breakdown

Maintenance

- Attend to machine breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.

- Diagnose mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.

- Coordinate with electricians and other technicians whenever required.

4. Blade &

- Tool Management

- Sharpen, adjust, and replace cutting blades as per operational requirements.

- Ensure accurate blade settings to minimize kernel breakage and product wastage.

- Maintain fitter tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment.

5.

Production

Support

- Assist machine operators during machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers.

- Ensure optimum machine performance with minimum wastage.





- Support production targets by ensuring maximum machine availability.

6. Safety &

- Compliance

- Follow workplace safety procedures and food-industry hygiene standards.

- Ensure machine guards and safety devices are properly installed and functional.

- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

7.

Quality

Support

- Ensure correct machine settings to maintain product quality.

- Minimize mechanical defects that may cause kernel damage or breakage.

- Identify and report recurring machine-related quality issues to supervisors.

8. Documentation &

- Reporting

- Maintain machine maintenance logs and breakdown reports.

- Record spare parts consumption and maintenance activities.

- Report abnormal machine performance and recurring mechanical failures.

Required Skills &

- Competencies

- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance and machine repair.

- Hands-on experience with industrial machinery and mechanical components.

- Knowledge of bearings, belts, shafts, gears, blades, and lubrication systems.

- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns independently.

- Positive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
