Machine Vision Engineering Head
Role Overview The Machine Vision Engineering Head directs the strategy, architectural design, deployment, and lifecycle maintenance of industrial automated optical inspection (AOI) and machine vision systems. This leadership role oversees a team of vision, software, and systems engineers to automate quality inspection, metrology, and robotic guidance across high-speed manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the architectural and technology roadmap for plant-wide machine vision, 2D/3D surface inspection, high-speed dimensional metrology, and automated defect recognition (ADR).
- Lead the end-to-end selection and integration of optical hardware: industrial cameras (line-scan, area-scan, multispectral), telecentric lenses, illumination systems, and frame grabbers.
- Direct the development and deployment of vision software pipelines utilizing traditional computer vision algorithms alongside up-to-date deep-learning/AI defect classification models.
- Partner with controls, automation, and MES teams to ensure low-latency integration between vision processing systems, PLCs, robotic arms, and factory execution layers.
- Drive inspection repeatability, cycle-time targets,
and false-call rate reduction to maximize production throughput and first-pass yield.
- Manage engineering talent, project budgets, vendor/OEM partnerships, system integrators, and project milestone deliveries.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Optical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field.
- 12+ years of experience in industrial machine vision and automation, including at least 4–6 years in technical leadership or engineering management.
- Expert-level command of commercial machine vision suites (Cognex VisionPro/In-Sight, Keyence, MVTec HALCON, or Matrox Imaging Library) or custom frameworks (OpenCV, Python, C++).
- Hands-on expertise in optics design, structured lighting techniques, radiometric calibration, and camera interface protocols (GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, Camera Link, CoaXPress).
- Proven experience deploying edge-AI, deep learning inference, and statistical process control (SPC) in high-volume production settings.
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,700,000.00 per year
