Idea to Edit is a creative studio that makes video content for brands in the US. We run client accounts from Atlanta, and our creative team works from our office in Gandhinagar.

We're looking for a Lead Video Editor: a strong editor first, who can also lead a team of editors. This is a hands-on role. You will edit the most significant videos on each account yourself, set the style the rest of the team follows, guide the editors working with you, and be the main contact for US clients on everything related to the edits. We are not looking for a manager who doesn't edit.

About the work

Most of our work is social content for US businesses: talking-head videos, B-roll edits, trending formats, and long-form YouTube videos. Each client has its own brand style, captions, fonts, and music, and every video has to match it. We handle a high volume every month, so speed and consistency matter as much as creativity. What you'll do

- Edit long-form YouTube videos (10 to 20 minutes) with strong pacing, B-roll, and a hook in the first 30 seconds
- Edit short-form content for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok
- Find the best moments in long raw footage and shape them into a clear story, without a script
- Turn rough or abrupt footage into smooth, premium-looking edits with the right pacing, transitions, and sound
- Build reusable templates and brand styles for each client (captions, text animations, lower thirds, intros and outros)
- Lead and manage the editors on your team: assign work, set priorities, and make sure every deadline is met
- Make sure every video that leaves our studio is up to the mark. Check the pacing, design, sound, captions, and brand fit, and fix anything that isn't at the highest quality.




- Communicate directly with US clients on Slack and turn their feedback into transparent changes
- Keep files and projects organized in Google Drive and Notion or ClickUp

What we're looking for

We want someone who

- Is self-motivated and does not need to be micromanaged
- Is excited to come to work and takes pride in every video
- Has a strong sense of design and aesthetics: typography, color, layout, and what makes a video look premium
- Understands pacing and rhythm, knows when to cut and when to hold, and can make abrupt shots feel smooth
- Is ready to lead the team under them, and knows how to manage people, deadlines, and feedback
- Wants to grow, keeps learning new tools and techniques, and is ready to take on more responsibility over time
- Is a positive person that everyone enjoys being around. Your personality matters as much as your work.
- Takes feedback without getting defensive, and makes revisions quickly
- Asks questions early when footage or notes are unclear
- Understands what feels natural to a US audience

Skills and experience

- At least 2 to 3 years of experience working in an agency, or freelancing directly for companies
- A strong portfolio with both long-form and short-form work
- Expert-level Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Music and audio mixing: choosing the right track, cutting music to the edit, balancing voice, music, and sound effects, and clean final levels
- Audio cleanup:



removing noise and echo from phone or room recordings
- Color correction, especially natural and consistent skin tones
- Hands-on experience with AI editing tools and techniques, such as Descript, Adobe Enhance Speech, Runway, AI captioning tools, and ChatGPT or Claude Code for scripting and planning
- Experience with cloud editing and review workflows, such as Frame.io, shared Premiere projects, and Google Drive
- Clear written English. You will message US clients directly.

Job details

- Salary: ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 per month, based on experience
- Full-time, in-office at our Gandhinagar office. This is not a remote role.
- 6 days a week
- Paid twice a month, every 15 days
- Selection includes test rounds
