Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Surgery Coder with 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Surgical Coding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing operative reports and clinical documentation to accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for various surgical specialties while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, payer regulations, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Review operative reports, physician documentation, and medical records for accurate code assignment.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for surgical procedures and related services.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, AMA, payer-specific, and client-specific coding guidelines.
- Analyze documentation to determine correct coding and identify opportunities for clarification from providers.
- Apply appropriate modifiers and sequencing rules to surgical claims.




- Maintain productivity and quality standards as established by organizational requirements.
- Participate in coding audits, quality reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated on coding guideline changes, regulatory updates, and industry best practices.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and implement corrective actions as needed.

Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in Surgery Coding.

- Strong knowledge of

- Surgical CPT Coding
- ICD-10-CM

- HCPCS Coding

- Medical Terminology
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Modifier Application and Surgical Coding Guidelines
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while meeting productivity and quality targets.

Mandatory Certification Candidates must possess at least one active certification from the following:

- CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
- CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder)
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
