As we continue to scale our manufacturing operations, we are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Factory Manager to lead our factory operations and drive productivity, quality and efficiency.

Role Overview The Factory Manager will be responsible for the overall management of factory operations, ensuring efficient production planning, optimum utilisation of resources, consistent product quality, adherence to food safety standards and timely execution of production targets.

The ideal candidate should have strong manufacturing experience, leadership capabilities and the ability to establish systems that improve factory performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan, schedule and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per business requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Monitor production output, yield, wastage and overall efficiency.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of machinery, manpower and other resources.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

2. Quality Control & Food Safety

- Ensure products meet defined quality specifications and food safety requirements.
- Coordinate with the QA & QC team to maintain quality standards across all production stages.
- Ensure compliance with applicable FSSAI requirements and relevant food safety systems, including HACCP and ISO 22000 where applicable.
- Monitor process deviations, customer complaints and corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure proper hygiene, sanitation and housekeeping practices across the factory.

3. Manpower & Team Management

- Lead and supervise production supervisors, operators,



technicians and factory workers.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Monitor employee productivity, discipline and attendance.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate employee training.
- Build accountability and performance-oriented work practices within the factory.

4. Machinery & Maintenance

- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate breakdown maintenance and minimise production downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Ensure proper maintenance of factory utilities and infrastructure.

5. Inventory & Cost Control

- Coordinate with procurement and stores to maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Monitor raw material consumption, packaging material usage and production wastage.
- Control manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Ensure proper material handling, storage and stock reconciliation.
- Monitor production losses and implement measures to reduce wastage.

6. Compliance, Safety & Documentation

- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and internal factory requirements.
- Maintain production reports, batch records, process documentation and other operational records.
- Ensure workplace safety standards and proper use of PPE.
- Conduct regular factory inspections and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain audit readiness and support internal and external inspections.

7. Operational Excellence & Reporting

- Establish and monitor production KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Standardise manufacturing processes and implement SOPs.
- Prepare regular reports on production, quality, downtime,



wastage and manpower productivity.
- Work closely with management, procurement, QA & QC, stores and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the food processing or FMCG industry.
- Prior experience managing factory operations and production teams.
- Robust understanding of production planning, quality management, food safety and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of FSSAI regulations, GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000 standards is preferred.
- Experience in production costing, inventory management and process optimisation.
- Good leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Malayalam and English communication skills preferred.
