Role & responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

- Review and triage potential expense-policy violations referred by the Expense Audit/Finance team, the Helpline, and other reporting channels.
- Apply sound judgment, discretion, and consistent decision-making while handling sensitive employee and financial information.
- Analyze flagged transactions and supporting documentation to identify policy exceptions, inconsistencies, patterns, and other risk indicators, using Excel and other analytical tools to evaluate expense data accurately and efficiently.
- Plan and conduct objective, fact-based interviews with relevant individuals, who may include:
- The employee whose expenses are under review
- Expense-code or cost-center owners
- The employees development or people leader
- Other stakeholders with relevant knowledge
- Evaluate the available evidence and determine whether expenses are compliant with policy and eligible for approval or reimbursement.
- Assess non-compliant or unapproved expenses and determine the appropriate disposition:
- Potential fraud or misconduct: Escalate the matter to an Internal Investigator with a concise, well-supported due-diligence package.




- Coaching-level concern: Refer the matter to the appropriate development or people leader for documented coaching and follow-up.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and well-organized case summaries that document the allegations or concerns, analytical work performed, interview findings, supporting evidence, conclusions, and recommended next steps.
- Develop comprehensive escalation packages to support effective, seamless handoffs to Internal Investigators.
- Maintain complete and timely case records in accordance with applicable confidentiality, data-retention, and documentation requirements.
- Track, analyze, and report case volumes, outcomes, aging, and cycle times, including matters approved, referred for coaching, or escalated for investigation.
- Identify recurring trends, control gaps, and emerging risks related to expense-policy compliance, and recommend improvements to policies, controls, communications, or training.
- Will be well versed in SAP to run concurrent processes with the Finance Expense team
