Role: Enterprise / Practice Architect – Data & AI Platforms

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Enterprise / Practice Databricks Architect to define and drive enterprise-wide Data & AI platform strategy, architecture modernization, governance and technology transformation. The candidate will be responsible for shaping multi-year architecture roadmaps, establishing enterprise Databricks standards, leading large-scale modernization initiatives and building scalable, secure and cost-optimized Lakehouse platforms.

The role requires strong enterprise architecture ownership, strategic consulting capabilities, stakeholder management and experience leading architects and large transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

Define enterprise-wide Data & AI platform vision, target-state architecture and multi-year modernization roadmap.

Lead enterprise Databricks architecture strategy covering Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, workspace design, identity, networking, compute and security.

Establish enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, operating models and reusable platform capabilities.

Drive large-scale modernization and migration initiatives across legacy data warehouses, Hadoop, ETL platforms and cloud data ecosystems.

Define migration strategies, migration factory frameworks, quality gates, reconciliation standards and cutover governance.

Establish federated data governance, domain ownership, data-product standards, access controls and compliance frameworks.

Drive platform performance, reliability, observability, capacity planning and FinOps strategies.

Govern adoption of Databricks capabilities including Lakeflow / DLT, Workflows, Serverless, System Tables and Asset Bundles.

Define AI-ready data platform architecture,



including governed RAG, context engineering, model access and AI governance capabilities.

Engage with CXO-level stakeholders, business leaders and technology leadership to drive architecture decisions and transformation roadmaps.

Lead strategic consulting engagements, architecture assessments, RFI/RFP responses and solution shaping.

Mentor architects, build technical competencies and establish enterprise architecture best practices.

Mandatory Skills

15+ years of overall experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or Data & AI Platform Leadership.

Strong expertise in Enterprise Databricks Architecture and Lakehouse platforms.

Hands-on architectural understanding of Unity Catalog, workspace architecture, governance, security and platform engineering.

Proven experience in enterprise data modernization and large-scale cloud/data platform migrations.

Strong knowledge of AWS / Azure / GCP cloud data architecture.

Experience defining enterprise data governance, security, operating models and architecture standards.

Robust understanding of platform performance, scalability, reliability and FinOps.

Experience managing enterprise stakeholders, architecture governance and large transformation programs.

Excellent consulting, communication, strategic decision-making and leadership skills.

Good to Have

Experience with Databricks Lakeflow / DLT, Workflows, Serverless, System Tables and Asset Bundles.

Exposure to AI-ready data platforms, RAG architectures, LLM integration and AI governance.

Experience in migration factory setup, reusable accelerators and enterprise architecture frameworks.

Experience leading architecture practices, mentoring senior architects and building competency frameworks.
