Value Engineer - Product Cost Management Role: Engineer - Value Engineer

Reports to: Team Lead

Type: Individual contributor, full-time

Experience: 3-5 years

Qualification: BE/BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent)

Location: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Responsibilities

You will find the lowest-cost way to deliver each part and project, recommending cheaper materials, methods and processes without sacrificing function.

- Develop and maintain part cost estimates, and prepare cost-down / cost-up calculations and unit cost reports
- Analyse product design data for conformance to design selection criteria, use of standardised parts and equipment, and design-to-cost ratio
- Approve initial designs or recommend modifications based on ease of manufacture, cost and component technology
- Coordinate testing of new parts and equipment, evaluate results, and approve or reject their use
- Evaluate and approve vendor selection
- Initiate and provide technical direction for R&D; programmes that improve production methods and part technology and reduce cost
- Develop methods to predict, track and report production costs during design development
- Plan and coordinate activities to apply standardised design criteria and production requirements across the companys product lines
- Deliver assigned tasks to scope and on time,



in line with company guidelines, standards, Code of Conduct and Health & Safety requirements

What you bring

Must-have

- 3-5 years in Value Engineering, cost engineering, production/manufacturing engineering or mechanical design
- Very good knowledge of manufacturing techniques and production technology
- Very good understanding of technical drawings and requirements
- Very good knowledge of GD&T;
- Sound knowledge of quality systems and quality guidelines
- Good knowledge of IC engines
- Basic knowledge of NX or Creo CAD
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- BE/BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent)

Good to have

- German language skills
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Risk assessment experience
