Role Summary

Responsible for developing and maintaining automated database tests to validate data logic, transformations, and backend workflows. Collaborates with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to ensure data quality and streamline regression testing.

What Youll Do

- Analyze business requirements, database designs, and data mappings to identify automation scenarios and define expected results
- Develop and maintain database test automation using Python with pytest, Java with JUnit or TestNG, or equivalent programming languages and frameworks
- Create reusable utilities for database connections, query execution, result comparison, assertions, logging, and test reporting
- Write complex SQL queries to validate business rules and calculations
- Automate checks for data accuracy, completeness, duplicates, null values, data types, referential integrity, and constraints
- Build source-to-target reconciliation automation frameworks using Python
- Automate tests for stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and validate outputs and error handling
- Automate validation of ETL processes, batch jobs, and incremental loads
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and scheduled runs; maintain regression suites and investigate failures
- Review automation code, track scripts in Git, report defects, and communicate coverage and release risks to stakeholders

What We re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- Degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or a related discipline




- Relevant experience in database testing and test automation
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, aggregate functions, CTEs, and window functions
- Hands-on programming experience in Python for automated database tests
- Experience with at least one automation framework such as pytest, JUnit, or TestNG
- Practical experience with at least one relational database (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)
- Strong understanding of database schemas, keys, constraints, relationships, transactions, and stored logic
- Experience validating data quality, business rules, and source-to-target mappings
- Ability to design repeatable, independent tests with explicit expected results
- Experience using Git and integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions)
- Understanding of secure test configuration and test data management
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile delivery, and defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Good to Have (Optional - only if mentioned):
- Hands-on experience in Java or an equivalent language
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
- Experience with ETL automation, data warehouse testing, data migration validation
- Knowledge of finance, investments, portfolio management, OCIO applications, trading, cash management, compliance, or capital markets
- Exposure to API automation or database performance testing

Qualifications: Bachelor s or master s degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or a related discipline
