Summary

UST is looking for an experienced Should Costing Engineer – aPriori Costing Specialist, based in Hyderabad, to develop accurate manufacturing cost models, perform cost analysis, support sourcing negotiations, and drive cost optimization initiatives across industrial, automotive, heavy engineering, aerospace, or energy products.

The Opportunity

- Develop should-cost models using aPriori for fabricated, machined, cast, forged, sheet metal, welded, and assembled components.
- Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Estimate material, labor, machine, tooling, overhead, and logistics costs.
- Benchmark supplier quotations against should-cost estimates.
- Identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
- Support procurement, sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost recovery initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Generate cost reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Conduct clean-sheet cost modeling for new product introductions and design changes.

What You Need

- 3–6 years of experience in should costing and manufacturing cost analysis.

Required Skills

- Solid expertise in aPriori costing software.
- Manufacturing process knowledge: CNC machining, casting, forging, sheet metal, welding, fabrication, and assembly.
- Engineering drawing interpretation (2D/3D CAD).
- BOM analysis and cost breakdown structures.
- Should costing / clean-sheet costing methodologies.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

Desired Skills

- Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems.
- Experience in Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Heavy Engineering, Energy, Aerospace,



or Rail domains.
- Exposure to Value Engineering (VE) and Value Analysis (VA).
- Knowledge of Costimator, Teamcenter, Windchill, or other PLM systems.
- Understanding of AI-driven cost analytics platforms.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Mandatory Skills

Strong expertise in Apriori Costing Software.

Manufacturing process knowledge: CNC Machining Casting Forging Sheet Metal Welding Fabrication Assembly Engineering drawing interpretation (2D/3D CAD). BOM analysis and cost breakdown structures.

Should

Costing / Clean Sheet Costing methodologies.

Advanced

Excel and data analysis skills.

Preferred Skills Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems.
