Role Summary

Responsible for hands-on API and Database testing, validating service behavior and data integrity, and ensuring backend processes align with business requirements. Collaborates with business analysts and developers to identify and resolve issues for reliable application delivery.

What Youll Do

- Analyze business requirements, API specifications, data models, and mapping documents to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test data for various testing types, including end-to-end workflows
- Test APIs using Postman, Bruno, or equivalent tools; validate HTTP methods, status codes, payloads, and schema compliance
- Validate authentication, authorization, request/response structures, and error handling
- Test integration workflows, handle retries, duplicate requests, and idempotency; verify data changes
- Write SQL queries to validate records, calculations, and business rules
- Reconcile data between source and target systems, identify inconsistencies, and verify transformation rules
- Investigate failures, report defects with evidence, and support triage and retesting




- Perform API performance testing using tools like JMeter, k6, or Gatling; monitor and analyze results
- Work with development and database teams to resolve performance issues and retest

What We re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- Relevant experience in API and Database testing
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, test design techniques, defect management, and Agile Scrum
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs with Postman, Bruno, or equivalent tools
- Experience validating authentication, authorization, and role-based permissions
- Experience with API performance testing and related tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling)
- Ability to create realistic test scenarios based on business workflows
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, and aggregate functions, with experience in databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks, or MySQL
- Experience testing stored procedures, ETL processes, data migrations, or data warehouse workflows
- Ability to validate data accuracy, referential integrity, and transaction behavior across systems
- Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools for tracking and reporting
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Good to Have (Optional - only if mentioned):
- Knowledge of finance, investments, portfolio management, OCIO applications, trading, cash management, compliance, or capital markets
- Exposure to API test automation and running tests in CI/CD pipelines
