Essential qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor s degree in any discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Technical disciplines are relevant but not required; professional certification and demonstrated practice carry equal weight at this level.
- Minimum 10 years in cybersecurity, of which at least 4 years in a security architecture or equivalent technical design authority capacity.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on involvement in securing production AI, generative AI or agentic systems - not solely policy or advisory exposure.
- Demonstrable depth in cloud and enterprise security architecture; Microsoft Azure and the Microsoft security platform are strongly preferred given the enterprise estate, including XDR, SIEM, cloud posture and the AI and agent platform services layered on them.
- Working technical understanding of LLM architectures, embeddings, vector stores, RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, agent frameworks, multi-agent orchestration and the MCP-style tool integration model - sufficient to challenge an engineering team s design on its merits.




- Practical command of AI threat taxonomies and the ability to produce threat models and control mappings without external support.
- Evidence of designing or governing agentic systems that act on enterprise data or systems, including autonomy tiers, trust boundaries and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Proven record of authoring security standards, patterns and architecture documentation adopted at enterprise scale.
- Identity and data security grounding: non-human, agent and workload identity, privileged access, data classification, DLP and data loss exposure through AI interfaces.
- Hands-on prototyping capability using current AI development tooling, including agent-building platforms, AIassisted coding environments and locally hosted or self-managed models for evaluation work. The role is expected to build to assess.
- Ability to write and read Python to the level required to validate a control, review a test harness or prototype an assessment.
- Demonstrated C-level advisory experience: maturity assessment, transformation roadmap development and executive briefing, with examples of decisions influenced.
- Credible with both engineers and executives, and able to hold a security position under commercial pressure.
