Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Steel Cord Belt Jointer with hands-on expertise in pipe conveyor systems. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality belt jointing, maintenance, and repair work to ensure smooth and uninterrupted conveyor operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform steel cord conveyor belt jointing (hot & cold splicing) for pipe conveyor systems
- Carry out installation, repair, and maintenance of conveyor belts
- Inspect belts for damage, wear, and alignment issues
- Execute belt replacement and emergency breakdown repairs
- Ensure proper vulcanizing procedures and joint strength standards
- Maintain tools, splicing kits, and equipment in good condition
- Follow safety standards and site protocols during all operations
- Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams for shutdown planning
- Prepare basic work reports and job completion records
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of steel cord belt splicing techniques
- Experience in pipe conveyor systems (mandatory/preferred)
- Understanding of vulcanizing equipment and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/manuals
- Knowledge of belt alignment, tensioning, and tracking
- Familiarity with industrial safety practices
Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field (preferred)
- Certification in belt jointing/splicing will be an added advantage
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years in steel cord belt jointing
- Experience in pipe conveyor systems or bulk material handling projects preferred
