JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales, business development, market expansion, and customer engagement for Cable Accessories and Electrical Products such as switchgear, HT cables, and related items. The role demands strong experience in the electrical industry with a deep understanding of Gujarat and MP customer ecosystems.
The incumbent will own revenue delivery, secure product approvals, strengthen channel networks, and build longterm customer relationships across utilities, EPCs, industries, and OEMs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify and acquire new business opportunities across Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh.
- Deeply engage with consultants, contractors, installers, EPCs, and industry influencers.
- Drive specification and approval processes for Cable Accessories and electrical products.
- Conduct product demonstrations, technical sessions, and awareness programs to build demand.
2. Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for LV/MV cable accessories and related electrical products.
- Execute sales plans through direct sales and channel management.
- Develop and manage distributor/partner networks.
- Ensure timely collections and maintain commercial discipline.
3. Customer Engagement & Key Account Management
- Build strong relationships with:
- State Utilities
- Private Utilities
- EPC Contractors
- OEMs
- Large Industries (RIL, JSW, L&T; Hydrocarbons, Tata Chemicals, etc.)
- Conduct frequent customer visits and solution presentations.
- Support presales discussions, negotiations, and technical clarifications.
4. Market Intelligence & Competition Tracking
- Track competitor products, pricing, approvals, and market trends.
- Monitor project pipelines, demand patterns, and installation trends in Gujarat & MP.
- Provide actionable feedback to product, pricing, and marketing teams.
5. Product & Technical Enablement
- Support product approvals, installation best practices, and technical presentations.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams for customer resolution if needed.
6. Reporting & Sales Processes
- Maintain sales MIS, funnel updates, territory planning, and customer reporting.
- Guide junior sales team members as required.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Current customer acquisition across utilities, EPCs, OEMs & industries
- Product approvals/specifications secured
- Achievement of sales and margin targets
- Revenue contribution from new and existing customers
- Market penetration of LV/MV accessories across Gujarat & MP
- Effective distributor/channel performance
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech Electrical (preferred)
- MBA/PGDM (added advantage)
Experience
- 7-10 years of experience in the electrical industry
- Handson experience in:
- Switchgear up to 33kV
- HT cables
- Cable accessories
- Electrical installation/utility ecosystem
- Strong background in B2B industrial/utility sales.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in business development & hardcore sales
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- Deep understanding of Gujarat and MP customer base
- Ability to work independently and execute on the ground
- Strong relationshipbuilding & keyaccount management skills
- Knowledge of LV/MV/HV systems, customer pain points, and project lifecycles
