PReJHA Foundation is a Non-Profit Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. It is a joint social enterprise established between the PanIIT Alumni Reach for India Foundation and the Department of Welfare (DoW), Government of Jharkhand. The Foundation designs, implements, and scales institutionalized programs for skill development and livelihood enhancement across various districts of Jharkhand, with a focused commitment to the most marginalized communities Scheduled Tribes (ST), Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG), Scheduled Castes (SC), and other minority groups.

About the ANM Nursing Program

The ANM (Assistant Nurse Midwifery) course is a 2-year diploma program tailored to equip young women from backward and tribal communities of Jharkhand with the nursing and midwifery skills required for employment in hospitals, primary health centers, and community health setups. The program curriculum focuses on:

- Prevention of diseases and community health promotion
- Patient care, clinical treatment, and rehabilitation
- Maternal and child health, antenatal and postnatal care
- Placement in state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and renowned health sector organizations
- Maintaining the overall health and wellness of the general public

Role Overview

The Nursing Faculty will serve as the academic and clinical backbone of the ANM program. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical nursing education to students from tribal, rural, and marginalized backgrounds. The role demands a blend of clinical expertise, teaching ability, empathy, and a sincere commitment to the Foundation's social mission. As a residential faculty member, the candidate will live on campus with food and accommodation provided, ensuring round-the-clock mentorship and guidance to students.

Key Responsibilities

A. Academic & Teaching Duties

- Plan, prepare, and deliver classroom lectures, tutorials, and demonstration sessions as per the prescribed ANM curriculum
- Develop structured lesson plans, teaching aids, models, and learning materials suited to first-generation learners
- Ensure curriculum delivery in full compliance with Indian Nursing Council (INC) / Jharkhand Nursing Council norms and standards
- Conduct theory examinations, practical tests, skill assessments, and viva voce as per the academic calendar
- Evaluate and provide timely feedback on student assignments, presentations, and examination papers
- Maintain updated and accurate academic records including attendance, internal marks, and progress reports

B. Clinical Training & Supervision

- Supervise and guide students during clinical postings at affiliated hospitals, PHCs, CHCs, and community health centers
- Demonstrate and train students in bedside nursing procedures, wound care, injection techniques, and vital sign monitoring
- Provide hands-on training in maternal and child health, antenatal care, normal delivery assistance, and postnatal care
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols,



patient safety standards, and professional nursing ethics during clinical sessions
- Maintain clinical posting schedules, student performance logs, and clinical competency records
- Liaise with hospital supervisors and clinical staff to ensure a structured and meaningful clinical learning experience

C. Student Mentoring & Support

- Provide personalized academic counseling, emotional support, and career guidance to students, especially those from tribal and rural communities
- Identify academically weak or struggling students early and implement remedial teaching strategies
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and motivating learning environment sensitive to students' socio-cultural backgrounds
- Assist students with preparation for State Board examinations — theory, practical, and viva components
- Guide students in developing professional conduct, communication skills, and workplace readiness for healthcare employment
- Mentor students in maintaining personal hygiene, uniform standards, and nursing ethics as per professional norms

D. Administrative & Institutional Responsibilities

- Maintain all academic documentation including lesson plans, mark sheets, progress cards, and institutional records
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, academic review committees, and curriculum planning sessions
- Coordinate with district health authorities, hospitals, and community organizations for field visits and clinical arrangements
- Support accreditation processes, regulatory inspections, and compliance activities of the nursing institute
- Contribute to the continuous quality improvement of teaching methodologies and student outcomes
- Assist the Program Head in organizing health camps, awareness drives, and community outreach activities

Essential Qualification

B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University / Nursing College

Preferred Qualification

M.Sc. Nursing (any specialization) — candidates with M.Sc. will be given preference

Registration

Valid registration with Jharkhand Nursing Council (JNC) / Indian Nursing Council (INC)

Experience

5 to 10 years of experience in clinical nursing and / or nursing education (ANM / GNM / B.Sc. Nursing institution)

Teaching Experience

Prior experience as Nursing Tutor / Lecturer / Clinical Instructor preferred

Age Limit

Up to 45 years (relaxable for exceptionally qualified candidates)

Language Skills

Proficiency in Hindi essential; knowledge of local tribal languages / dialects (Santali, Mundari, Ho, Kurmali) an added advantage

Other Requirements





Willingness to live and work at residential campus in Jharkhand districts; sensitivity to marginalized communities essential
