Job Summary:

The Fellowship in Orbit & Oculoplasty at Eye Mantra provides specialized training in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of orbital and oculoplastic conditions. This program focuses on the surgical and non-surgical management of eyelid disorders, orbital diseases, and reconstructive procedures. Fellows will receive hands-on experience in a wide range of oculoplastic surgeries, providing them with the necessary skills for a successful career in this subspecialty.

Program Details:

OPD & Procedures:

- Extensive training in the evaluation and management of orbital and oculoplastic conditions.
- Exposure to diagnostic procedures, including MRI, CT scans, and ultrasonography for orbital imaging, as well as slit-lamp examination, biopsy, and eyelid evaluations.
- Regular postings in OPDs, where fellows will manage cases under the mentorship of experienced oculoplastic surgeons.
- Experience in diagnosing and managing various eyelid disorders, orbital tumors, trauma, and reconstructive surgeries.

Program Structure:

First 3 Months: Induction Phase

- Introduction to the fundamentals of oculoplastic surgery and orbital pathology.
- Hands-on training in the examination and workup of orbital and eyelid diseases.
- Exposure to diagnostic tools and imaging modalities used in orbital and oculoplastic surgery, including high-resolution CT and MRI scans.




- Case-based management of common conditions such as ptosis, eyelid malpositions, and orbital cellulitis.
- Understanding the surgical anatomy and principles of eyelid surgery, lacrimal surgery, and orbital procedures.

Next 3 Months: Advanced Clinical & Surgical Training

- In-depth exposure to surgical management of eyelid disorders such as blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, and entropion/ectropion repair.
- Training in orbital surgeries, including excision of orbital tumors, orbital decompression, and orbital fracture repairs.
- Surgical management of lacrimal system disorders, including dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) and lacrimal duct surgeries.
- Hands-on experience in reconstructive oculoplastic procedures, such as eyelid reconstruction after trauma or tumor excision.
- Participation in managing orbital infections, inflammation, and other complex orbital conditions.
- Post-operative care and management of surgical outcomes, including patient counseling and rehabilitation.
