About the Project
Magic Bus is implementing the Livelihood Resource Centre (LRC) model across selected districts in Maharashtra to strengthen livelihood opportunities for rural youth, particularly women and marginalized communities.
The programme will establish seven block-level Livelihood Resource Centres that will provide youth with life skills training, employability preparation, entrepreneurship and self-employment training, digital literacy, and job placement support.
Role Overview
The Life & Employability Skills cum EDP Trainer will deliver structured training on life skills, workplace readiness, and entrepreneurship development to youth enrolled in the Livelihood Resource Centre programme. The trainer will facilitate participatory learning sessions, mentor youth, and support them in building confidence, professional skills, and job readiness for employment. They further support the development of entrepreneurial mindsets, the identification of business opportunities, and the building of the knowledge and skills required to start and manage small enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Mobilisation, Outreach & Community Engagement
- Mobilize youth through outreach in villages, colleges, and community networks.
- Conduct awareness sessions and orientation programmes to enrol participants.
- Encourage participation of young women and marginalized youth.
- Engage with SHGs, youth groups, and local institutions to encourage participation.
Training Delivery
- Deliver training modules on life skills, including communication, teamwork, confidence building, and decision-making.
- Conduct sessions on workplace readiness, professional behaviour, resume preparation, and interview skills.
- Facilitate digital literacy and workplace communication sessions using participatory training methods.
- Deliver training on entrepreneurship development, opportunity identification, and business planning.
- Facilitate sessions on financial literacy, costing, pricing, and market assessment.
- Guide participants on enterprise setup, regulatory basics, and digital tools for business operations.
Mentorship & Placement Support
- Provide mentoring and career guidance to youth during and after training.
- Support participants in job applications, interview preparation, and job readiness activities.
- Assist the Centre Manager in coordinating placement opportunities with employers.
- Mentor youth interested in starting micro-enterprises or self-employment activities.
- Support participants in developing business ideas and enterprise plans.
- Facilitate linkages with markets, financial institutions, and government livelihood schemes.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain attendance records and participant progress documentation.
- Update training data through MIS systems and report progress to the Centre Manager.
- Document participant success stories and learning outcomes.
- Maintain training records and track participant progress.
- Document enterprise outcomes, participant learnings, and success stories.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Centre Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in life skills training, employability training, entrepreneurship development, enterprise training, or livelihood promotion programmes.
- Robust facilitation and communication skills.
- Experience working with rural youth, SHGs, or community enterprises.
Desired Competencies
- Experience in participatory training and experiential learning methods.
- Familiarity with youth skilling or livelihood programmes.
- Understanding of small business development and financial literacy concepts.
- Familiarity with government livelihood schemes such as NRLM, PMEGP, or similar programmes.
- Strong mentoring and facilitation skills.
- Willingness to travel locally within the block.
- Fluency in Marathi and English preferred.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive within the development sector and commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
