FACOR a unit of Vedanta Limited, is one of India's leading producer and exporter of Ferro Chrome, an essential ingredient to produce stainless steel and specialty steels. It is a fully Integrated business of 150 KTPA Ferro-Chrome production capacity with 1.65 MTPA ROM Production along with 6 Own Mines and a 100 MW Power Plant. With 4X growth vision for Ferro Chrome production operating both at open cast and underground mines and 1.5 MTPA Capacity Chrome Ore Beneficiation Plant, the Organization provides exciting growth prospects for aspiring young leaders and high potentials to take up Significant Leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Integration

- Ensure vocational training emphasizes Regulations related to safety, health, and duties of workmen and competent persons under Chapter V of MMR, 1961.

Training of Competent Persons & Workmen

- Coordinate with Manager to ensure workers are trained before being designated as: Competent Persons, Blasters / Shotfirers, Machinery operators
- Facilitate training on first-aid arrangements and mine emergency response systems where applicable





Planning & Conduct of Training

- Organize Initial Vocational Training, Refresher Training, and Specialized Training for all categories of workers as prescribed in MVTR, 1966.
- Ensure that no person is employed in a mine without prescribed training and certification.

Training Centre Management

- Ensure the Vocational Training Centre is properly established, approved (where required), and equipped with Training galleries / models, Audio-visual aids, Safety appliances and mock-ups
- Maintain safe, hygienic, and suitable training conditions.

Curriculum & Methodology

- Develop training modules covering Mine hazards, Safety rules and regulations, Protected working practices, Emergency procedures and rescue awareness
- Align all training content with DGMS-approved syllabi and mine-specific hazards.

Assessment & Certification

- Conduct training assessments, tests, and practical demonstrations.
- Issue Training Certificates in prescribed forms after satisfactory completion.
- Ensure certificates are valid, traceable, and auditable.

Record Keeping

- Maintain statutory registers and records of Attendance, Training schedules, Certificates issued, Refresher training due lists
- Produce all records upon demand by Inspectors of Mines

Qualifications & Skills

- Mandatory: DGMS Certificate of Competency (Manager / Foreman / Mate), desirable for Underground Metal Mines.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in underground metal mining operations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mining engineering.
