About the Role
SOLAR CONNECT is expanding into North Kerala and looking for a Business Development Manager based in Kozhikode. This is a field sales role — you generate leads, visit customer sites, present proposals, and close deals across residential and commercial solar installations in Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kannur, and Wayanad.
You will be supported by SOLAR CONNECT's head office in Trivandrum and work alongside our on-ground Liaison Officer in Kozhikode who handles all KSEB and MNRE documentation.
What You Will Do
- Generate your own leads through referrals, site visits, community outreach, and follow-up on digital leads assigned from HO
- Conduct site visits and present solar proposals to residential homeowners and commercial clients
- Close deals end-to-end — from first meeting to signed Work Order
- Use SOLAR CONNECT's Scout app to generate feasibility reports and proposals on-site (full training provided — no prior tech experience needed)
- Log all leads and deal activity in ERPNext same day
- Minimum target: 5 closed deals per month from month 3
Who We Are Looking For
- 1–4 years of field sales experience — solar, real estate, FMCG, financial products, electrical goods, or any role where you have closed deals face-to-face in Kerala
- Based in Kozhikode or surrounding areas — solid local knowledge of Malabar districts is a significant advantage
- Own vehicle (two-wheeler minimum) and valid driving licence — daily field travel required
- Fluent Malayalam — essential. Working English for CRM and proposals.
- Smartphone comfortable — WhatsApp, Google Maps, and our CRM app are daily tools
Solar experience preferred but not mandatory — we provide full product training. What we cannot train is the ability to build relationships and close deals. That needs to come from you.
What You Will Earn
- Fixed salary: ₹20,000 – ₹28,000 per month (based on experience)
- kWp-based commission on every deal closed** — Cat A residential ₹500/kWp, Commercial deals always commissioned with no threshold
- No ceiling on commission — your earnings grow directly with your closures
- Salary review at 6 months
Example: Close 6 residential deals (5kWp each) in a month — earn ₹15,000 commission on top of your fixed salary.
