About the Company : The Hindu is looking for a Staff Reporter/Correspondent with about 3 to 5 years experience to join its team in Mysuru.
About the Role : The position involves coverage of news from Mysuru and adjoining districts of Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu with emphasis on clarity of language and accuracy of facts.
Responsibilities :
- Coverage of civic, court, crime, political, setting, development and socio-economic issues across the region.
- Generate story ideas, develop sources and contribute across platforms including print, digital and video formats.
Qualifications :
- The candidate should be a graduate/post graduate, preferably in journalism or communication, who has been writing news reports for English language publications.
Required Skills :
- The ideal candidate will be a person, who is familiar with the local language (Kannada), culture, political, geographical and socio-economic scenario of Mysuru and the adjoining districts in Old Mysore region.
