We are looking for a motivated Project Research Scientist-I to join our ICMR CAR-funded project on AI and multi-parametric MRI for glioma diagnosis at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow -one of India’s premier medical institutes.

“Development and Validation of AI and Multi-parametric MRI-Based Methods and Software Solutions for Assisting Pre-operative Brain Tumor Diagnosis and Therapeutic Response Assessment”

Under: Centre for Advanced Research in Quantitative Imaging and AI Modeling for Early Diagnostics and Prognostic Monitoring in Oncology CAR-2024-01-000187

What You will Do?

· Work at the intersection of quantitative MRI, AI/ML, and neuro-oncology

· Develop AI models for early diagnosis and prognostic monitoring of brain tumors

· Work on advanced MRI-based methods for glioma diagnosis and treatment response assessment

· Conduct research in state-of-the-art deep learning models for neurological diseases

· Collaborate with teams from KGMU, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, FORTIS, NIMHANS, and universities in the USA

· Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals

Who should apply?

· M.Sc./B.Tech./M.Tech in Physics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent

· Strong interest in neuroimaging, MRI, image processing, AI/ML, and oncology

· Programming skills in MATLAB or Python

· Experience in AI/ML modeling is preferred





· Knowledge of cancer biology will be an added advantage

· First division throughout preferred; NET/GATE or equivalent preferred

· Robust scientific writing and communication skills

Note: Candidates with a serious scientific interest in the role are encouraged to apply. This position is not suitable for candidates with a purely life sciences background. B.Tech. candidates may be considered for PhD registration as per KGMU eligibility norms. However, candidates with M.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent research exposure will be preferred.

Position details:

· Position: Project Research Scientist-I

· Full-time | Initially for 2 years

· Extension possible for another 2 years based on satisfactory performance

· Location: KGMU, Lucknow

· Stipend: As per ICMR norms, ~₹67,200/month including HRA

· The project offers exposure and mentorship from experts at KGMU, IITs, NIMHANS, FORTIS, and universities in the USA
