Job Description Area Sales Manager (Tea Sales) – Kerala

Job Title: Area Sales Manager (ASM) – Tea Sales
Location: Kerala (North Kerala / South Kerala)
Industry: FMCG – Tea & Beverages
Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager

Job Summary

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market penetration, managing distributor networks, and leading field sales operations across Kerala. The role focuses on achieving primary and secondary sales targets, strengthening retail presence, and developing strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts. Similar tea and FMCG ASM roles in Kerala emphasize distributor management, retail expansion, team leadership, market intelligence, and sales target achievement.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Drive primary and secondary sales across assigned territories.
- Expand market share and improve product availability.
- Identify new business opportunities and increase outlet coverage.
- Execute sales plans and promotional activities to boost brand visibility.

Distributor & Channel Management

- Appoint, manage, and develop distributors and stockists.
- Ensure effective distributor ROI and inventory management.
- Monitor stock availability and minimize stock-outs.
- Strengthen General Trade, Modern Trade, and wholesale channels.

Retail Market Execution

- Conduct regular market visits and joint work with sales teams.
- Improve visibility through merchandising and promotional activities.




- Ensure product placement and adherence to company standards.
- Build strong relationships with retailers and key customers.

Team Management

- Lead, train, and motivate Sales Officers, TSOs, and Sales Representatives.
- Set performance targets and monitor team productivity.
- Conduct regular reviews, coaching, and performance evaluations.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

- Track competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Collect customer feedback and recommend business improvements.
- Prepare sales forecasts, MIS reports, market reports, and business reviews.
- Monitor collections and ensure timely payment recovery.

Candidate Requirements

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or related field.
- MBA (Marketing/Sales) preferred.

Experience

- 4–8 years of FMCG sales experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years in an Area Sales Manager or Territory Manager role.
- Experience in Tea, Coffee, Beverages, or Food FMCG preferred.
