Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mold Design Engineer role based in Ernakulam, Kerala.

The Mold Design

Engineer will be responsible for designing plastic injection molds and tooling for automotive and other industrial components using 3D modeling and CAD software. Daily tasks include reviewing part designs, conducting DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analyses, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize mold layouts, and performing mold flow or similar analyses to validate designs. The role also involves preparing detailed 2D drawings, BOMs, and documentation,



coordinating with manufacturing and toolmakers during mold development, and supporting engineering changes and mold improvements. The engineer will participate in design reviews, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of design methods and processes.

Qualifications

- Strong NX 3D CAD and modeling skills for plastic components and injection molds.
- Hands-on experience in plastic injection mold design, including core/cavity design, parting line, cooling, gating, and ejection systems.
- Knowledge of DFM principles and basic tolerance stack-up and GD&T.;
- Familiarity with automotive or related industry standards, materials for plastic components, and tooling/manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation with attention to accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot design issues and support mold trials and modifications.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or related field; prior mold design experience is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to work in office in Ernakulam and manage multiple projects with tight timelines.
