About the Role
Rise Research is building a hands-on lab experiment program for students, combining offline bench work with online research training. We're looking for a life sciences PhD to set up this program from the ground up, from lab space and safety protocols to curriculum and student training.
This is a founding role: you'll shape how an entire generation of students gets their first real experience in a working lab.

What you'll do
Set up a BSL-1 teaching lab from scratch: equipment, bench layout, safety systems, and SOPs
Design a curriculum of hands-on experiments (PCR, gel electrophoresis, microscopy, microbial culturing, DNA extraction, and similar techniques)
Write clear, student-friendly protocols and risk assessments
Train and supervise students in lab technique and biosafety
Support online sessions on literature review, data analysis, and scientific writing




Maintain compliance documentation and scale the curriculum as the program grows

Who you are
PhD in a life sciences discipline (molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related)
3+ years of hands-on lab experience with core molecular biology techniques
Familiar with BSL-1 setup and safety protocols
Comfortable working independently in a 0-to-1 environment
Solid communicator, able to explain technical concepts to students new to lab work
Teaching, workshop, or curriculum design experience is a plus
