Role Description
Join our optics design team to take optical designs from concept to validated hardware for our laser-based products and EOIR sights.
Key Responsibilities
▪ Design imaging and laser optics using Zemax / CODE V
▪ Perform tolerancing and prepare optical drawings and specifications for fabrication
▪ Interact with vendors for costing, fabrication follow-up and incoming inspection of optics
▪ Integrate optics and validate performance at system level
▪ Set up optical test benches and carry out alignment and characterization
▪ Document designs, test procedures and reports
Qualifications
▪ B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Optics engineering, or related field,
PhD preferred.
▪ 0–3 years of experience (academic projects/internships in optics considered)
▪ Working knowledge of Zemax or CODE V
▪ Sound fundamentals — aberrations, MTF, Gaussian beam optics
▪ Hands-on aptitude for optical alignment and lab measurements
▪ Basic MATLAB or Python
▪ Good communication, ownership and willingness to learn
▪ Willing to travel for vendor visits and integration support
Good to Have
▪ Exposure to IR optics or laser systems
▪ Familiarity with optical drawing standards (ISO 10110)
▪ Prior vendor or fabrication interaction
