About the Role
We are looking for a Safety Engineer to lead on-site Environment, Health & Safety practices for a large industrial construction project. This role is critical to maintaining a zero-incident work culture across high-risk activities including excavation, structural erection, and working at height.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific safety plans in line with statutory and client requirements
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks for workforce and subcontractors
- Monitor compliance on PPE usage, scaffolding, excavation safety, and lifting operations
- Investigate near-misses and incidents; maintain accident/incident registers and corrective action reports
- Coordinate safety inductions and periodic training for site personnel
- Liaise with statutory bodies and ensure documentation is audit-ready at all times
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Safety Engineering or equivalent; NEBOSH/IOSH certification preferred
- 8+ years of hands-on safety experience on industrial or EPC construction sites
- Sound knowledge of Indian factory/labour safety regulations
- Robust observational, reporting, and people-management skills
