Valar Ecom is a Shopify Plus development and growth partner based in Kharadi, Pune, working as an embedded extension of ecommerce teams — combining Shopify development, automation, and strategy to help brands scale faster with less friction. We support the full ecommerce lifecycle for high-growth DTC brands across the UK and US: custom builds, CRO, retention, and automation that actually moves the needle — not just dashboards.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a QA Engineer to make sure everything we ship actually works — across the Shopify storefronts, apps, and custom builds our team puts out for clients. You'll be the last line of defence before something goes live on a brand doing real revenue, so attention to detail matters a lot here.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING A typical month might include:

- Testing a new subscription flow across desktop and mobile before it goes live on a client's Shopify Plus store, and catching the edge case where the discount doesn't apply on a re-subscribe
- Running regression checks after a theme update to make sure checkout, cart, and product pages still work the way they should
- Writing up a clear, reproducible bug report for a dev when a custom app integration breaks on a specific browser




- Sitting in on a sprint planning call and flagging which features will need the most testing time before launch
- Building out a simple test checklist for a recent client store so nothing gets missed during the next big campaign push
- Cross-checking that a store's international/multi-currency setup behaves correctly for a UK vs US customer

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 1-3 years of experience in QA / software testing
- Comfortable testing web applications manually — you don't need to be an automation expert, but you should be thorough and methodical
- Experience with bug tracking tools (Jira, Trello, Linear, or similar)
- Basic understanding of how e-commerce/Shopify stores work
- Good written communication — you can write a bug report a developer can actually act on without back-and-forth
- Comfortable working across browsers and devices, and thinking about real customer scenarios, not just happy paths
- We don't care about your degree or pedigree — we care whether you can catch what others miss and communicate it clearly

NICE TO HAVE (not required)

- Prior experience QA-ing Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
- Familiarity with basic automation testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Experience testing subscription or payment flows
- Exposure to API testing (Postman or similar)
