Role Description This is a remote, freelance/contract role for an experienced developer with 8+ years of hands-on expertise in Scala, Java, and Python. The professional in this role will design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services, write clean and productive code, and perform code reviews to ensure best practices and high-quality standards.

Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, integrating third-party services and APIs, troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems, and contributing to technical architecture and design decisions. The role also involves preparing technical documentation,



ensuring adherence to security and performance guidelines, and supporting testing and deployment activities within an agile or iterative development environment.

Qualifications

- Strong programming skills in Scala, Java, and Python, with 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with backend development, microservices, RESTful APIs, and integration with databases and third-party services.
- Proficiency in software engineering best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), code reviews, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Background in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance distributed systems, cloud-native applications, or containerized environments.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern development workflows; strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in consulting or client-facing projects, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, is beneficial.
