Our client is a growth stage consumer tech startup based out of Bangalore. They are scaling one of India's fastest-growing platforms, is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a backend team.

This role is for a builder at heart who's spent years deep in backend systems, has recently stepped into (or is on the cusp of) people leadership, and understands that great engineering in a consumer business is inseparable from great business outcomes.

What you'll do

- Own the health, output, and growth of a backend engineering team from architecture decisions to delivery rigor
- Partner closely with product and business stakeholders to translate business goals into technical roadmaps
- Mentor and grow engineers, while staying hands-on enough to unblock hard technical problems




- Drive engineering best practices around scalability, reliability, and code quality for high-traffic consumer systems
- Balance speed and craft by shipping quick without compromising on the fundamentals

What we're looking for

- Strong backend engineering background with a solid understanding of how technical decisions impact business metrics
- 1–2 years of team management experience as an SDE3/Team Lead or an early-stage Engineering Manager
- Prior experience in Consumer Tech is a must
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
- Based in or willing to relocate to Bangalore
