About the Role

We are looking for an experienced API Integration Engineer to join a team responsible for the modernization and evolution of an enterprise API platform. The role will focus on Apigee, Azure API Management (APIM), Terraform, API automation and platform engineering, with a strong emphasis on building scalable, secure and self-service API capabilities.

A key part of the role will be the migration of APIs from Apigee to Azure APIM, including policy migration, automation, testing and validation. The engineer will also work closely with development, platform, security and architecture teams to establish API standards, governance and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and manage enterprise-scale API solutions using Apigee and Azure API Management (APIM).
- Lead API migration initiatives from Apigee to Azure APIM, including policy migration, automation, testing and validation.
- Build and enhance self-service API onboarding and management capabilities for development teams.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform for API platform provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Create automation frameworks for API deployment, policy management, environment provisioning and operational workflows.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with platform, application, security and architecture teams to define API standards and governance.
- Implement API security, traffic management,



observability, monitoring and performance optimization.
- Develop reusable solutions and automation to improve developer productivity and platform adoption.
- Troubleshoot complex integration and platform issues across development, testing and production environments.

Requirements – Must Have

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in API engineering, integration engineering or software engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Apigee.
- Hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
- Strong expertise in Terraform.
- Proven experience with API migration and modernization projects.
- Strong software engineering and system design fundamentals.
- Experience building automation solutions and developer self-service capabilities.
- Programming experience with Node.js, Python or C#.
- Experience with GitHub Actions / GitHub Pipelines and modern CI/CD practices.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, API lifecycle management, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and JWT.
- Valuable knowledge of API security best practices.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- An automation-first mindset and interest in platform engineering.

Nice to Have

- Positive understanding of Azure infrastructure and cloud services, including networking, identity, security and resource management.
- Experience with Azure-native services and cloud architecture patterns.
- Familiarity with platform engineering and developer experience (DevEx) initiatives.
- Knowledge of API observability and monitoring tools.
