Fresh Platter is looking for a highly driven and commercially sharp sales leader from the fruits & vegetables / fresh-produce industry to lead and scale our sales function.

We are ideally looking for someone currently working as a Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager or Associate Director who has strong industry relationships, understands the market deeply, and is ready to step into a larger leadership role.

n

This is not an industry-entry role . The candidate should already know the fresh-produce business, understand how key customers operate, and be able to hit the ground running from Day 1 .

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Build and execute Fresh Platter’s sales strategy across bananas and other fresh-produce categories.
n
- Grow business with modern trade, supermarket chains, quick commerce, institutional buyers and other organized customers .
n
- Use existing industry relationships to open doors, develop key accounts and accelerate growth.
n
- Build a structured sales pipeline with clear customer, volume, pricing, margin and collection targets.
n
- Identify and capitalize on short-term trading and arbitrage opportunities arising from changes in supply, demand, pricing, geography or seasonality.
n
- Balance short-term profit opportunities with long-term account, category and market development.
n
- Work closely with Sourcing, Operations, Quality, R&D; and Finance before launching or scaling new product categories.
n
- Help identify which fruits, vegetables or other produce categories deserve serious company investment.
n
- Build repeatable sales processes around forecasting, pricing, customer planning, reviews, reporting and accountability.
n
- Lead and develop the sales team and create a professional, performance-driven sales culture.
n
- Scale the business across important Indian cities by developing a repeatable market-entry and account-development approach.
n
- Evaluate and develop export opportunities where commercially attractive.

Sales Means Collection n





At Fresh Platter, a sale is complete only when the money is received .

n

The Sales Director and the sales team are responsible not only for generating orders, but also for ensuring that customers pay according to agreed terms.

n

The person will be expected to:

n

- Sell only to customers with acceptable creditworthiness and payment behaviour.
n
- Maintain discipline around credit limits and payment terms.
n
- Closely monitor receivables and ensure timely collections.
n
- Intervene quickly when payments are delayed.
n
- Stop or restrict supplies where customers do not honour agreed terms.
n
- Use cash / advance payment where customer creditworthiness is uncertain.
n
- Ensure sales growth does not create bad debts or working-capital stress.
n

n

Orders, invoicing and dispatch without collection are not considered successful sales.

What We Are Looking For n

The candidate should have:

- Strong hands-on experience in fruits & vegetables / fresh-produce sales .
n
- Deep and respected relationships across modern trade, supermarket chains and quick commerce .
n
- Strong understanding of fresh-produce pricing, seasonality, quality, supply fluctuations and customer requirements.
n
- Excellent commercial judgment and negotiation skills.
n
- Ability to identify profitable short-term opportunities and act quickly.
n
- Experience managing key accounts and sales teams.
n
- Strong discipline around gross margin, customer credit and collections .
n
- Ability to build and scale business across multiple cities.
n
- High integrity, professionalism and credibility with customers and colleagues.
n

Experience with exporters or export markets would be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
