Role & responsibilities

1. Statutory Compliance

Ensure compliance with all central & state labour laws (Factories Act, CLRA, Minimum Wage Act, Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, Maternity Benefit Act, Shops & Establishments, ESIC, EPF etc.).

Monitor and maintain registers, forms, and notices as per respective Acts.

Ensure timely submission of statutory returns:

PF, ESIC, LWF, PT, Bonus, Accident/Incident Reports, Abstracts Displays

Maintain a compliance calendar and ensure zero missed timelines.

2.. Contract Labour Compliance

Verify contractor license, registrations and validity under CLRA.

Ensure monthly compliance records from contractors:

Wage register, attendance, muster roll, PF/ESIC challans, wage slips etc.

Conduct physical audits for wage disbursement, payouts, and onboarding.

3.. HR Process Compliance

Ensure adherence to internal HR policies (Code of Conduct, POSH, Leave, Disciplinary Process, Attendance, Workplace Safety Norms).

Track employee lifecycle documentation:

Joining documents, exit documentation, ID proof verification etc.

4. Legal & Audit Readiness





Coordinate with internal auditors and external statutory auditors.

Ensure 100% documentation readiness for Labour Department visits.

Prepare reports, dashboards, and statutory trackers for management.

5. Safety, Welfare & Training

Verify statutory welfare facilities (restroom, drinking water, lighting, first-aid etc).

Ensure accident reporting and coordination with ESIC/WC

Conduct periodic awareness sessions for HR Officers and contractors on compliance processes.

Highlight risks and provide corrective action plans for non-compliance.

Update HR on regulatory changes and implement current statutory requirements.

6. Documentation & MIS

Maintain digital and physical records of all compliance documents.

Prepare monthly HR compliance scorecards for all locations.

Follow up with cross-functional teams for closure of audit observations.
