Role & responsibilities

- Handle cash billing and financial counselling activities for patients and attendants
- Explain treatment estimates, packages, billing details, advances, and outstanding amounts clearly
- Prepare and communicate cost estimates for admissions, surgeries, procedures, and other services
- Coordinate with Admissions, Doctors, Nursing, Insurance/TPA, and other departments for smooth billing processes
- Ensure timely collection of advances and outstanding payments as per hospital policies
- Handle patient and attendant queries related to bills, payments, refunds, and final settlements
- Support timely financial clearance during patient discharge
- Verify billing details and ensure accuracy of charges, packages, discounts, and payments
- Maintain proper documentation and records of billing and counselling activities
- Handle high-value cases and coordinate with the concerned departments for financial clearances
- Address billing-related complaints professionally and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor pending payments and follow up as required




- Prepare and maintain daily/monthly billing and collection-related MIS reports
- Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies, NABH standards, and confidentiality requirements

Requirements:

- Graduate in any discipline; B.Com / BBA / Hospital Management preferred
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in Cash Billing & Financial Counselling in a hospital
- Good understanding of hospital billing, treatment estimates, packages, advances, and discharge settlements
- Experience in handling patient financial counselling and cash collection
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
- Positive knowledge of Hospital Information System (HIS) and MS Office
- Ability to handle patients and attendants with empathy and professionalism
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends/holidays as required
