Own end-to-end payroll processing and statutory compliance for a PAN-India workforce, ensuring zero-defect payouts, timely statutory remittances and audit-ready documentation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
• Run monthly payroll PAN India — input validation, attendance/leave reconciliation, arrears, incentives, faculty/counsellor variable pay
• Maintain payroll master: new joiners, exits, transfers, salary revisions, structure changes
• Process full & final settlements within defined TAT; compute gratuity, leave encashment, notice recovery
• Manage reimbursements, LTA and flexi-benefit declarations
Statutory Compliance
• EPF: monthly ECR, UAN generation/linking, KYC, transfers, withdrawals, inspections
• ESIC: contributions, IP registration, TIC, dispensary mapping across states
• Professional Tax and Labour Welfare Fund — state-wise registration, deduction and return filing
• Shops & Establishments registrations and renewals for all centres; maintenance of statutory registers and abstracts
• Minimum Wages, Payment of Wages, Bonus, Gratuity and Maternity Benefit Act compliance
• Track and implement the recent Labour Codes as notified
• Support POSH committee constitution and annual return filing
Salary TDS
• TDS u/s 192 — computation, monthly deposit, quarterly 24Q filing and Form 16 issuance
• Investment proof verification, perquisite valuation,
old vs new regime handling
Accounting, Audit & Controls
• Handle statutory, internal and tax audit queries on employee costs and compliance
• Maintain compliance calendar; escalate lapses with root cause and corrective action
MIS & Systems
• Monthly payroll cost MIS, headcount analytics, centre-wise manpower cost trends, budget vs actual
• Drive automation of payroll and compliance workflows; UAT for HRMS/payroll system changes
• Ensure confidentiality and access controls over payroll data
QUALIFICATIONS
• CA Inter / MBA (Finance or HR) / M.Com / B.Com / BBA; certification in payroll or labour law an advantage
• 6–8 years in payroll and statutory compliance, with at least 3 years handling multi-state, multi-location payroll
• Prior experience in education, training, retail, hospitality or services with distributed branch operations preferred
SKILLS
• Working knowledge of EPF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, S&E; and Income Tax provisions on salaries
• Hands-on with payroll software (ZingHR); advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliation models) and MS Word
• High accuracy under fixed monthly deadlines; strong documentation discipline
• Able to liaise independently with statutory authorities, consultants and auditors
• Discretion in handling confidential compensation data
