This is a senior systems engineering prospect focused on building and owning embedded proxy software deployed across a large fleet of school-network appliances.
You’ll work close to the hardware and operating system, developing production-grade Rust for constrained environments and network-intensive workloads.
The role spans embedded Linux, networking, performance optimization, containerization, and cloud-based fleet management.
You’ll help evolve critical infrastructure that must remain reliable, secure, and performant across thousands of real-world deployments.
The position offers significant technical ownership, from low-level OS and networking components through the AWS control plane.
You’ll collaborate with engineers across product and infrastructure disciplines in a distributed, international environment.

Accountabilities
Own the design, development, and maintenance of embedded proxy software running on hardware appliances deployed across distributed customer environments.
Develop production systems software in Rust, working close to the operating system, network stack, and constrained hardware.
Implement and optimize networking functionality, including TCP stream handling, socket programming, transparent proxying, and related low-level components.
Work with embedded Linux at the OS and driver level, including device drivers, kernel modules, cross-compilation, and hardware bring-up where required.
Build and maintain containerized workloads suitable for constrained appliance environments.
Conduct performance testing, load testing, memory and CPU profiling, and flame graph analysis to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
