About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Website Development Intern to join our in-house development team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on live website projects, including builds, revamps, and SEO implementations. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of WordPress, HTML, CSS, and PHP, and a keen interest in web development and digital marketing.

This internship is designed to be highly practical, with each task directly contributing to real-world projects. You will work closely with senior developers and SEO specialists, gaining invaluable insights into website development, optimization, and maintenance. The position is ideal for individuals looking to enhance their technical skills, build a professional portfolio, and explore a career in web development within a fast-paced digital marketing environment.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should be currently pursuing or recently have completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field. Demonstrable hands-on experience with WordPress, including theme and plugin management, is essential.



Basic to intermediate proficiency in HTML and CSS, with the ability to write and modify code independently, is required.

Familiarity with PHP for WordPress template customization and functions.php edits is also necessary. A good understanding of on-page SEO principles such as meta tags, heading structure, image optimization, and page speed is preferred. The candidate should be able to work efficiently on real projects with deadlines, producing clean, functional, and responsive websites.

A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve is highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, including theme customization, plugin configuration, and page builder work using tools like Elementor, Divi, or similar.
- Write and edit HTML and CSS code for front-end adjustments, layout fixes, responsive design, and custom styling to ensure optimal user experience.
- Utilize PHP for basic WordPress template modifications, creating custom functions, and plugin-level customizations to enhance website functionality.
- Assist the SEO team with on-page SEO tasks such as meta tags, heading structures, schema markup, image optimization, and internal linking on live pages.
- Support website revamp projects by migrating content, updating designs, restructuring URLs, and implementing redirects to improve site architecture and performance.
- Conduct basic website audits to identify issues like broken links, slow page loading, mobile responsiveness problems, and Core Web Vitals errors,



implementing fixes under supervision.
- Participate in routine website maintenance, updates, and bug fixes across various client and in-house projects to ensure consistent performance and security.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, including notes on changes made, to facilitate review and future enhancements by senior developers.

Benefits As a Website Development Intern at Dotcom Growth, you will gain practical experience working on live projects within a collaborative team environment.
