About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled RF and Optical Communication Engineer to join our dynamic team at Vistance Networks. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, modeling, and validating advanced RF and optical communication architectures. Your expertise will support the development of systems that facilitate seamless data transmission across fiber-optic and wireless networks.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product lifecycle management (PLM), and engineering to ensure the integration and performance of communication systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that push the boundaries of current communication technologies, contributing significantly to our mission of connecting the world with reliable, high-speed communication solutions.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of optical communications, including fiber optics, optical components, and analog optical transport systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio with the ability to create clear, detailed engineering diagrams and system schematics.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables,



data visualization, and system modeling capabilities.
- Understanding of analog system design principles and key performance metrics.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills to support system development and optimization.
- Experience in database design, structuring engineering data, test results, and configuration records within relational databases.
- Proficiency in VBA scripting to automate workflows and develop engineering tools within Excel.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar for modeling, automation, and data analysis.
- Ability to design comprehensive end-to-end system architectures for communication networks.

Responsibilities

- Design, model, and validate RF communication architectures, including link budgets, modulation schemes, and interference mitigation strategies.
- Support the design and analysis of optical communication pathways, including fiber-based analog transport systems.
- Evaluate and optimize analog signal paths to ensure low-noise, high-fidelity performance across RF and optical domains.
- Create detailed block diagrams, system schematics, and workflow documentation using Microsoft Visio to communicate system designs effectively.
- Develop and maintain engineering spreadsheets for calculations, data analysis, and system modeling using Microsoft Excel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Sales, PLM,



and Engineering to ensure seamless system integration and performance.
- Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and performance analysis to refine communication architectures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of engineering processes, configurations, and test results for future reference and compliance.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements in RF and optical communications to incorporate best practices into projects.
