We're Hiring: Senior SQL Database Engineer /n Bangalore, Gyansys Office | 6–8 Years Experience /n We're looking for an experienced Sr. SQL DBA to design, implement, and optimize SQL Server environments while ensuring top-tier security, performance, and availability across our database infrastructure. /n Key Responsibilities /n /n

- Evaluate database requirements (on-prem & cloud) and recommend scalable solutions

/n

- Manage backups, restores, integrity checks, and performance tuning

/n

- Optimize queries and indexes for efficiency

/n

- Implement and maintain database security policies & compliance standards

/n

- Conduct regular security audits and address vulnerabilities

/n

- Maintain high availability clusters and ensure replication uptime

/n

- Monitor systems proactively using enterprise monitoring tools

/n

- Generate performance, usage, and capacity planning reports

/n

- Mentor and guide junior DBAs and System Administrators

/n /n Specific Duties /n /n

- Support and troubleshoot A.O. Smith SQL servers and databases

/n

- Serve as escalation point for SQL performance/operational issues

/n

- Maintain system documentation and perform capacity trending

/n





- Support Azure & AWS environments as part of ongoing cloud transition

/n /n ✅ Basic Qualifications /n /n

- Bachelor's degree in IS, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications)

/n

- 6+ years of SQL experience in an enterprise environment

/n

- Experience with Oracle databases

/n

- Working knowledge of MS SQL in Azure

/n

- Strong understanding of IT security principles

/n /n ⭐ Preferred Qualifications /n /n

- Advanced troubleshooting & task automation experience

/n

- Experience with patch management tools

/n

- PeopleSoft experience

/n

- AWS RDS experience is a plus

/n

- ITIL certification preferred

/n

- Windows / AWS / Azure certification desirable

/n

- Strong communication skills; comfortable working with globally dispersed teams

/n

- Ability to thrive in a quick-paced, dynamic environment
