About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join our dynamic team on a part-time, hourly contract basis. This role is fully remote, offering flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work on pioneering AI evaluation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong software engineering expertise, particularly in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, Rust, or TypeScript, and have a solid understanding of algorithms, debugging, and performance optimization.

No prior AI-specific experience is required, as the primary focus is on your technical proficiency and ability to develop complex software environments. In this position, you will design and develop Reinforcement Learning environments that test AI models within realistic software engineering workflows, contributing to the advancement of AI evaluation methodologies and tools.

Qualifications The successful candidate will demonstrate solid proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.



A deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization is essential. Candidates should have proven experience debugging complex software issues and delivering maintainable, scalable solutions.

A strong background in feature development, codebase refactoring, and software performance enhancement is required. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills are critical, along with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional or remote engineering teams is highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop Reinforcement Learning environments that evaluate AI models on realistic and complex software engineering workflows.
- Create tasks involving bug fixing, feature implementation, codebase refactoring, and performance optimization to challenge AI agents.
- Develop reproducible environments with deterministic verification processes and establish golden reference solutions for benchmarking.
- Design workflows that require AI agents to discover, reason over, and utilize information using Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and real MCP servers.
- Evaluate AI-generated software solutions for correctness, maintainability, performance, and scalability, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Leverage strong knowledge of algorithms,



data structures, debugging, and systems engineering to craft challenging and meaningful evaluation tasks.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure consistent evaluation standards, high-quality deliverables, and continuous improvement of testing frameworks.
- Contribute to the development of innovative evaluation methodologies and tools to advance AI model reasoning capabilities.

Benefits This position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $60 to $120, based on experience and project scope. The role is part-time, requiring approximately 15 hours per week, providing flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments. As a fully remote opportunity, you can work from any location, choosing your preferred working days and hours to suit your lifestyle. The engagement is output-based, with payment aligned to completed tasks that meet project specifications.
