About the Role We are looking for a

Senior Java Engineer with strong hands-on experience in

Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Temporal Workflow to build scalable and reliable backend services and workflow-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have 5 - 8 years of software development experience and hands-on experience designing and implementing Temporal workflows for complex, distributed, and long-running business processes.

Experience in retail, e-commerce, order management, warehouse management, supply chain, fulfillment, or logistics is a strong plus. Candidates from other domains with solid

Java + Temporal + distributed systems experience are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Design and implement business workflows using Temporal Workflow. Develop and maintain Temporal Workflows, Activities, Workers, and Task Queues. Implement workflow features such as retries, timeouts, failure handling, and asynchronous processing. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices. Develop integrations with upstream and downstream systems using APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions and maintainable code. Work on complex business processes involving orders, inventory, fulfillment,



warehouse, logistics, or other transactional workflows. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve application performance and reliability.

Participate in code reviews and follow engineering and coding best practices. Collaborate with Product, Business, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience 5 - 8 years of hands-on software development experience . Strong programming experience in

Java . Strong hands-on experience with

Spring Boot / Spring Framework . Hands-on experience with Temporal Workflow is mandatory. Good understanding of

Temporal Workflows, Activities, Workers, Task Queues, retries, timeouts, and workflow execution . Experience developing

RESTful APIs and Microservices . Strong understanding of

Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, and software engineering principles . Good understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architecture . Experience with relational databases such as

PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL , or similar. Experience with

Git and modern software development practices. Understanding of

CI/CD and DevOps practices . Exposure to

AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Domain Experience Experience in any of the following domains is a plus: Order Management Systems (OMS) Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Supply Chain Inventory Management Retail / E-commerce Fulfillment / Logistics Other high-volume, transaction-intensive systems
