The Director – Research is a senior leadership position responsible for supporting and advancing the university’s research vision, strategy, and impact.
Reporting to and assisting the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Director will play a key role in strengthening the university’s research ecosystem, promoting excellence, and enhancing national and global research standing.

Key Responsibilities

Assist and report to the Pro Vice-Chancellor in developing and implementing the university’s research agenda
Support strategic planning and execution of research initiatives aligned with institutional goals
Oversee research centers, institutes, and interdisciplinary programs under the guidance of the Pro Vice-Chancellor
Contribute to the development of research policies, frameworks, and governance structures
Identify and facilitate major research funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships
Support national and international collaborations with academic,



industry, and government stakeholders
Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, and quality standards in research
Promote high-impact publications, patents, and knowledge dissemination
Mentor faculty and research teams to enhance research capacity and performance Qualifications
PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution
Minimum 12 years of experience in academic research and leadership roles
Strong track record of publications, citations, and funded research projects
Experience in managing large-scale research initiatives and teams
Demonstrated ability to build collaborations and secure external funding Key Competencies
Strategic thinking and leadership support capabilities
Robust research acumen and academic credibility
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
