Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Safety Officer to ensure protected working practices across HVAC and Chiller project sites. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety procedures, conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with company and statutory safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures at project sites.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and practices.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE such as helmets, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, harnesses, and other required equipment.
- Monitor safety during chiller installation, HVAC equipment installation, ducting, piping, lifting, and commissioning activities.
- Conduct Toolbox Talks and regular safety awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
- Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and Safety Checklists.
- Ensure proper work permits are obtained for height work, hot work, electrical work, confined spaces, lifting activities, and other high-risk work.
- Monitor safe practices during working at height, scaffolding, ladder usage, material handling, and lifting operations.
- Inspect lifting tools, tackles, scaffolding, ladders, electrical tools, and safety equipment.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve safety issues.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare reports.
- Maintain site safety records, inspection reports, training records, and incident documentation.




- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe storage of HVAC/MEP materials at project sites.
- Monitor emergency preparedness, fire safety, first-aid arrangements, and evacuation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company safety policies and statutory requirements.
- Take immediate corrective action in case of unsafe work practices.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and submit safety reports to management.
- Support safety audits and implement corrective and preventive actions.

HVAC & Chiller Safety Knowledge The candidate should have knowledge of safety requirements related to:
- Chiller Installation & Commissioning
- AHU / FCU Installation
- HVAC Ducting & Insulation Work
- Chilled Water Piping
- Pump & Cooling Tower Installation
- Lifting & Rigging Activities
- Hot Work / Welding & Gas Cutting

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HSE and construction-site safety practices.
- Good knowledge of PPE and safety equipment.
- Knowledge of Risk Assessment, JSA, Toolbox Talks, and Permit-to-Work systems.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong observation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to conduct safety training and awareness programs.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to strictly enforce safety standards at project sites.

Qualification Diploma / Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a relevant field.

Relevant safety certifications such as NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA will be an added advantage.

Experience

2–6 years of relevant experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in HVAC, Chiller, MEP, Construction, Engineering, or Infrastructure projects.
