We are looking for a responsible and proactive Safety Officer to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, company procedures, and project-specific EHS requirements. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring site activities, identifying hazards, implementing preventive measures, and promoting a robust safety culture among employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations, client requirements, and company safety procedures.
- Conduct Toolbox Talks, Safety Inductions, Daily Safety Briefings, and Awareness Programs.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting & rigging, excavation, electrical work, hot work, material handling, and equipment erection.
- Verify Permit to Work (PTW) requirements before commencement of critical activities.
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments, HIRA/JSA, Method Statements, and safety checklists.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and other required safety controls.
- Monitor safety arrangements for material unloading, shifting, storage, and handling activities.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and workers to resolve safety issues.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and assist in preparing Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly EHS records and reports.
- Conduct emergency preparedness activities, including mock drills and emergency response arrangements.
- Monitor availability and condition of fire extinguishers, first-aid facilities, emergency equipment, barricading, signage, and safety systems.
- Stop unsafe work where there is an immediate risk to personnel, equipment, or property.




- Support implementation of the project's EHS Plan and Safety Management System.
- Coordinate with client representatives and project management during safety inspections and audits.
- Ensure corrective actions arising from inspections and audits are closed within the required timeframe.

Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant field.
- Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Relevant safety certifications as required by the project/client.

Experience
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction, electrical, industrial, infrastructure, power, or engineering projects.
- Candidates with experience in electrical installation, transformer/panel erection, equipment installation, fabrication, lifting activities, and site construction works will be preferred.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of HIRA/JSA, PTW, PPE, emergency response, incident investigation, and workplace inspections.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, supervisors, engineers, and workmen.
- Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to work at project/site locations.
