Key Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Incharge will lead all material testing, quality control operations, and laboratory management for our road construction project. You will ensure that all soil, aggregate, bitumen, concrete, Steel and other construction materials meet project specifications, IRC/MORTH standards, and contract quality requirements. Should have good knowledge of IS & IRC codes and updated with Circular & notification of MoRT&H; and National Highway Authority of India.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory & Operations Management
· Set up, organize, and maintain the site testing laboratory according to project specifications and standards.
· Calibrate all laboratory and field-testing equipment periodically and maintain precise calibration records.
· Manage laboratory technicians, assistants, and laborers, providing technical guidance and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
· Coordinate with third party test agencies.
· Handling the Client and their representative like MoRT&H;, NHAI, PWD etc.
Material Testing & Quality Control
· Prepare Quality Assurance Plan as per Industry practice.
· Prepare Methodology for different activity of work.
· Perform and supervise routine testing of soil, aggregates, cement, Steel, concrete, bitumen, and emulsions (e.g., Proctor test, CBR, Gradation, Flakiness, Marshall Stability, Bitumen Extraction etc.).
· Mix designs for different grade of Concrete, Wet Mix Macadam (WMM), Granular Sub-Base (GSB), and Bituminous layers.
· Inspect incoming materials at the site and source plants to ensure compliance before use.
· Ensure Quality Control during execution, including but not limited to control of plant production, laying of designed mix material etc.
· Implementation of Value Engineering in Mix Design by using alternative designs, materials and technologies for cost effectiveness.
Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain accurate, up-to-date registers, test reports, and quality logs.
· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports for internal management and client review.
· Issue non-conformance reports (NCR) when materials or field compaction fail to meet standards.
Qualifications and Experience
· Education: Diploma or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
· Experience: Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in road/highway projects, with at least 12 years of handling independent laboratory operations.
· Technical Knowledge: Robust familiarity with MORTH specifications, IRC codes, and IS codes and updated circular and notification for highway construction.
Skills & Competencies
· Proficiency in MS Office (Excel for data logging and formatting test reports).
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· High attention to detail and zero-compromise attitude toward quality.
Pay: Up to ₹50,000.00 per month
