1. Position Purpose: -

Own the end-to-end procurement strategy, vendor management, category development, pricing, margins, inventory and commercial negotiations for FMCD Large Appliances, Small Appliances and General Merchandise. Ensure the right assortment at competitive cost with healthy margins, optimum inventory and high stock rotation.

1. Category Purchase Management: -

- Develop category-wise purchase plans based on sales trends, customer demand and seasonality.

- Manage procurement from product identification through PO, supply, GRN and payment coordination.

- Identify fast-, slow- and non-moving SKUs; rationalise assortment and maintain optimum stock.

- Identify new products, brands and emerging market opportunities.

- Plan seasonal and promotional procurement without creating excess inventory.

1. Vendor Management & Commercial Negotiation:-

- Identify, evaluate and onboard manufacturers, distributors, importers and brand principals.

- Negotiate purchase price, margins, schemes, discounts, credit period and freight terms.

- Negotiate damages/replacements, warranty support, promotional support, rebates and incentives.

- Benchmark market prices and improve NLC / landed cost.

- Review vendor performance and develop alternate sources.

- Recover vendor claims, shortages, damages, rebates and agreed commercial benefits.

1. Large Appliances / FMCD:-

- Manage refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, televisions, coolers, water heaters, kitchen appliances and other consumer durables.

- Manage brand/model assortment, pricing, dealer margins, promotions, display support, warranty/service support and damage/replacement processes.

- Plan seasonal demand, new model launches and liquidation of ageing inventory.

1. Small Appliances :-

- Manage mixer grinders, induction cooktops, kettles, irons, air fryers, rice cookers, toasters, sandwich makers, juicers, fans, personal appliances and other household electrical products.





- Develop high-margin, high-rotation and differentiated SKUs while controlling ageing inventory.

1. General Merchandise :-

- Manage Home & Kitchen, storage, plastics, household utilities, cleaning accessories, luggage & travel, stationery, home dcor, lifestyle and seasonal merchandise.

- Build an optimum mix of value, quality, margin and sales velocity.

1. Inventory & MIS :-

- Review sales, purchase, gross margin, stock value, stock cover, ageing and SKU productivity.

- Prepare purchase plans based on actual sales velocity and demand.

- Develop liquidation plans for ageing and non-moving inventory.

- Prepare vendor/brand/category MIS and monitor purchase price variance, schemes, fill rate and stock turnover.

1. Cross-Functional Responsibilities:-

- Coordinate with Sales, Category Management, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounts, Marketing, E-commerce and Store Operations.

- Ensure smooth purchase supply inventory sales payment execution.

1. Candidate Profile:-

- Postgraduate; MBA in Retail, Supply Chain, Marketing or Operations preferred.

- 815 years of relevant purchase/category experience in Retail.

- Strong negotiation, vendor management, category management, pricing, margin and inventory skills.

- Strong Excel/MIS and forecasting capability; ERP experience preferred.

- Existing vendor/brand network is an advantage.

1. Ideal Candidate:-

A commercially strong buyer who can independently manage categories from sourcing to sale. The candidate should balance product availability, price, quantity, margin, inventory and timingnot simply purchase at the lowest price. Strong ownership, market intelligence, negotiation ability and data-driven decision-making are essential.

Build FMCD, Appliances and General Merchandise into high-growth, high-margin and high-rotation categories while maintaining disciplined inventory investment and robust vendor relationships.
