Project Manager – DDU-GKYRoles & Responsibilities – End-to-End
1. Project Planning & Implementation
- Take overall responsibility for end-to-end implementation of the DDU-GKY project.
- Prepare project implementation plans covering centre setup, manpower, mobilization, training, assessment, placement and post-placement tracking.
- Develop timelines, targets and action plans for each centre and trade.
- Ensure project activities are completed within approved timelines and as per DDU-GKY requirements.
- Coordinate with management, SRLM and other stakeholders for smooth execution.
2. Training Centre Identification & Setup
- Identify suitable locations and properties for establishing DDU-GKY training centres.
- Coordinate property finalization, lease/rental documentation and centre readiness.
- Plan the complete centre layout as per applicable DDU-GKY requirements.
- Coordinate procurement and installation of:
- Classroom furniture
- Computers and IT infrastructure
- Training equipment
- Trade-specific lab equipment
- Retail/logistics/GDA or other trade labs
- CCTV and security systems
- Internet and networking
- Power backup
- Fire and safety equipment
- Signage and branding
- Ensure classrooms, laboratories, office areas, counselling areas, placement facilities and other required infrastructure are ready before operations.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors and suppliers for timely completion.
- Maintain centre setup checklists and ensure all required documents and photographs are properly maintained.
- Coordinate centre inspection/readiness verification and address deficiencies.
3. Centre Operations
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of all assigned centres.
- Ensure centres operate in accordance with approved processes and DDU-GKY guidelines.
- Monitor infrastructure, equipment, cleanliness, safety, discipline and student facilities.
- Ensure proper maintenance and timely rectification of operational issues.
- Conduct regular centre visits and operational reviews.
4. Recruitment & Manpower Deployment
- Plan manpower requirements for each centre.
- Recruit and deploy:
- Centre Managers
- Trainers
- MIS Executives
- Mobilization Executives
- Placement Executives
- Quality/Monitoring personnel
- Counsellors and support staff, as required
- Ensure staff meet applicable qualification and experience requirements.
- Conduct staff induction and orientation.
- Define responsibilities, targets and KPIs for centre-level employees.
- Monitor staff performance and take corrective action where required.
5. Mobilization & Student Enrolment
- Develop and execute student mobilization strategies in coordination with the mobilization team.
- Coordinate with local bodies, communities, government stakeholders and other relevant organizations for mobilization.
- Monitor counselling, screening, documentation and enrolment.
- Ensure adequate student pipeline for planned batches.
- Track enrolment, attendance and dropout levels.
6. Training & Batch Management
- Ensure timely commencement of batches as per the project plan.
- Monitor training delivery, attendance and trainer performance.
- Ensure adherence to approved curriculum, course duration and training methodology.
- Monitor practical training and lab utilization.
- Review batch-wise progress and take corrective measures for delays or performance gaps.
- Ensure student discipline and grievance handling.
7. Assessment & Certification
- Coordinate assessment-related activities with relevant agencies.
- Ensure students are adequately prepared for assessments.
- Monitor assessment schedules, results and certification.
- Track unsuccessful candidates and ensure appropriate follow-up/reassessment wherever applicable.
8. Placement Management
- Develop and implement placement plans for each trade and centre.
- Build relationships with employers and industry partners.
- Coordinate interviews, recruitment drives and employer visits.
- Ensure placement opportunities are aligned with student profiles and project requirements.
- Monitor offer letters, joining, salary documentation and placement records.
- Track placement performance against project targets.
9. Post-Placement & Retention
- Establish systems for post-placement tracking.
- Monitor student joining and employment continuity.
- Coordinate with placement teams for retention and post-placement support.
- Track required post-placement documentation and records.
- Identify reasons for early exits and implement corrective measures.
10. MIS & Documentation
- Ensure timely and accurate updating of project MIS and required portals/systems.
- Monitor student, batch, attendance, assessment, placement and retention data.
- Ensure all physical and digital records are properly maintained.
- Review data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare regular MIS reports, dashboards, centre performance reports and management updates.
11. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable DDU-GKY guidelines, SOPs, SRLM requirements and project conditions.
- Conduct internal quality audits and centre inspections.
- Maintain required documentation and evidence.
- Identify non-compliances and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Prepare centres and teams for SRLM, PIA, third-party and other monitoring/inspection visits.
12. Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the key operational point of contact between the organisation, SRLM, DDU-GKY authorities, employers, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Attend review meetings and represent the project when required.
- Follow up on approvals, observations, requirements and action points.
- Ensure timely submission of information and responses.
13. Financial & Resource Management
- Monitor centre-level operational expenses within approved budgets.
- Coordinate procurement and vendor management.
- Ensure optimum utilization of infrastructure, equipment and manpower.
- Verify operational requirements and avoid unnecessary expenditure.
- Coordinate with accounts/admin teams for project-related payments and documentation.
14. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead the entire project team across centres.
- Conduct regular review meetings with Centre Managers and functional teams.
- Set centre-wise and staff-wise targets.
- Monitor KPIs and performance.
- Provide guidance, training and corrective support to underperforming teams.
- Build accountability across all functions.
15. Monitoring & Review
- Conduct regular daily/weekly/monthly project reviews.
- Track key indicators such as:
- Mobilization
- Enrolment
- Batch commencement
- Attendance
- Dropout
- Training completion
- Assessment
- Certification
- Placement
- Joining
- Retention
- Prepare action plans for centres not meeting targets.
- Escalate critical operational issues to senior management.
16. Risk & Issue Management
- Identify operational, manpower, infrastructure, mobilization and placement risks.
- Develop contingency plans for delays and operational challenges.
- Resolve centre-level issues promptly.
- Escalate matters requiring management/SRLM intervention.
End-to-End Ownership The Project Manager will be responsible for the complete project lifecycle: Centre Identification → Centre Setup → Infrastructure & Equipment → Staff Recruitment → Mobilization → Student Enrolment → Batch Formation → Training → Assessment → Certification → Placement → Joining → Retention/Post-Placement → MIS → Compliance → Reporting → Project Closure

Candidate Profile
- Mandatory experience in DDU-GKY, preferably in a Project Manager/Project Head/Operations Manager role.
- Experience in setting up and managing DDU-GKY training centres from inception to operations.
- Solid understanding of DDU-GKY processes, documentation, MIS, compliance and placement requirements.
- Experience managing multiple centres and multidisciplinary teams preferred.
- Strong coordination, leadership, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across assigned centres/states.
Pay: From ₹480,000.00 per year
