Mechanical Engineer - Assembly & Deployment

About the Role
Cosy Farms builds modular hydroponic growing units deployed inside hotels and restaurants, supplied from a central hub farm in Mumbai. This role owns a unit’s journey after it leaves the design stage, from assembly at our production facility, through transport and installation at the client site, to commissioning and handover.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who understands mechanical assembly, plumbing, and structural fitment well enough to direct a team on the floor and at site - not just execute tasks, but ensure every unit ships to spec, deploys on time, and passes QC.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly Oversight
Ensure units are assembled to drawing and BOM spec, directing the on-floor team and stepping in hands-on when needed
Own pre-dispatch quality checks and functional testing - sign-off before a unit leaves the floor
Flag design or fitment issues to engineering and drive assembly improvements

Field Deployment
Lead in office installation:



plan the sequence, confirm site readiness, and direct the team through positioning and setup
Coordinate utility connections (power, water) with client facility teams and local contractors
Manage on-site logistics - tools, spares, and manpower needed for the deployment
Own troubleshooting when site conditions don’t match the plan

Commissioning & Handover
Own the commissioning process - start-up checks, leak/load tests, safety checks, before go-live
Train client-side staff on daily operation and basic troubleshooting
Document the commissioning checklist and punch-list, and get client sign-off

Coordination & Reporting
Keep the deployment schedule on track and communicate timelines to production and client-facing teams
Report installation status, issues, and client feedback to management
Build out standardised assembly and installation SOPs as the fleet scales
